What Does this glucose Tolerance Test Result Mean?

I have been asked to take half tablet of glycomet 250 mg twice daily. This dosage has been recommended after undergoing GTT; fasting blood sugar 103mg/dl - urine sugar nil 1/2 hour BS 177- urine sugar- trace 1 hour BS- 213 urine sugar- 1gm/dl 1 1/2 hour BS 172 urine sugar- trace 2 hour BS- 110 urine sugar- nil 2 1/2 hour BS- 98 urine sugar - nil Please advice

I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the reports you have mentioned.
You are having impaired glucose tolerance.
And treatment for this is asthma follows.
1. Strict anti diabetic diet. So consult dietician and plan your anti diabetic diet.
2. Loose weight if you are obese.
3. Start aerobic exercise like running, cycling, swimming etc.
4. Start metformin (glycomet) 250 mg once a day or half tablet twice daily.
Do all these for 1 monthl and get done repeat FBS (fasting blood sugar) and PPBS (post prandial blood sugar).
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
